The spectacular setting of Hampi, the sheer scale of its diversity, and the living heritage that is a result of the convergence of mythology, history and ecology, has brought Hami to the world map. Traveler stories as an iconic and unforgeable site, brings a stream of local and foreign tourists to the locaon, in search of an experience that is like no other. Hampi was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1986 for its unique historical monuments and arfacts, that both used and complemented the natural landscape, creang a powerful and meless experience

The World Heritage Site Masterplan is up for revision in 2020 and this exercise is part of the larger masterplan preparation.

The development of the masterplan took an approach that protects the natural and built heritage, maintains the visual integrity of the site and promotes the vernacular architecture and skill . A balance has been achieved through this design approach that caters to the comforts and necessities of both locals and tourists, while minimising ecological impact.
